When you join KWIS’s volunteer community, you are kept informed of upcoming opportunities. The service KWIS volunteers provide helps keep the station running – and the station and its employees greatly appreciate their generous contribution of time and effort.

Volunteer Jobs Help the Community

If you don’t have any prior experience in radio, don’t worry. We’ll teach you everything you need to know to maintain a volunteer job at a real radio station. It’s our goal to help our volunteers  excel at whichever job they choose.

Below is the list of volunteer jobs available for those interested in donating their time to KWIS

Volunteers are an essential part of KWIS’s success, not only in terms of programming but also in serving the greater needs of our community. One of the best ways to support public broadcasting is to volunteer your time! There are a variety of opportunities to accommodate your interests and schedule.

Fundraising Teams

Research prospective donors, Identify and contact potential donors.  
3 hour shifts -Varying days/times 

Tabling Team

Answer questions and help at KWIS events.
4 hour shifts, Varying days and times

Copy Writer 

Write promotional copy in support of the station's sales, marketing and promotional efforts. 

Varying days and times

News Reporter

Identify important news issues within the community, host Wednesday Wrap Up show.

Varying days/times for research. Host show on Wednesday's 12p-1pm 

Sports Announcer

Cover the play-by-play coverage of local sporting events. 

Varying days and times, usually evenings.
